Chas Prange
In my work, I try to leave myself open to discovery. I explore each situation capturing moments in time and examing the way that light falls on a scene and the colors that are reflected. My photographs are interpretations of visual reality. Distillations of color and form that represent the instant of perception unbound by any preconceptions or expectations. Most artists through their art give you information or an object. My artwork gives the viewer a challenge and a jumping off point for an experience. A journey of back and forth dialogue between my artwork and the audience which begins with a tense conversation of sometimes little information. If they ask more questions from what they’ve gathered with this information into my art the experience unfolds. Want the viewer to have the challenge not only be shown something but with and within my art a beautiful object exists as well.
