Bio

I’m a Greek photographer and Cultural Studies scholar. My academic background includes studies in Education in Paris, a degree in European Culture Studies, and postgraduate studies in Cultural Management. Drawn to the raw, introspective aesthetic of late 1980s American and European photography, I returned more fully to the medium during the pandemic to trace the shifting social landscape, both within society at large and within the family. My work centers on family, memory, loss, and identity. Two leporello editions, totaling 20 images “Where Ithaca Lies” and “Into the Blue”, form a body of work inspired by the mythological figure of the Homeric Penelope. Freed from gender stereotypes, the work examines the navigation of uncertainty and absence as lived, universal human conditions.
