Bio

Elli Asker (Elnara Askerova) is an Azerbaijani-Swedish artist whose work explores the intersections of migration, identity, and the LGBTQIA+ experience. Drawing on her background in political science, she blends analytical depth with poetic imagery to frame the body as a site of resistance and belonging. Her photography, which blends aesthetic art with a focus on the queer body and portraiture, has earned international recognition, including the Sony World Photography Alpha Female Award and the Prix de la Photographie (PX3). Asker’s work has been exhibited at prestigious institutions, including Liljevalchs Vårsalong and the Hasselblad Foundation. As the founder and chairperson of the QueerKraft cultural association in Södertälje, Asker extends her practice into community-building. Through workshops and collaborative projects, she uses photography as a shared language to amplify marginalized voices and foster inclusive spaces within contemporary art.
