Johanna Berghorn

Johanna Berghorn is a Berlin based photographer. While working as a freelance photographer and artist, she also completed an MSc in Psychology and is currently training as a psychoanalyst, in order to deepen the psychological skills of her photographic work and to use it for her artistic approach. Her work ranges from fashion and NGO work, to political activism and multi-media artworks, that revolve around contemporary topics and culturally charged narratives. With a feminist and socially engaged perspective, Johanna questions dominant visual narratives and works to create space for honest, inclusive representation. Her photography often intersects with themes such as body politics, gender, identity, and the impact of societal roles. For her, photography is not just about seeing; it is about understanding, mirroring, and transforming. It becomes a site of negotiation between internal and external realities, a visual language for what cannot always be spoken, but deeply felt.
