Bio

Sarah Carrier is a Quebec-born photographer and visual researcher based in Paris whose work explores the intimate intersections of identity, environment, and stories told through textiles. Her practice is informed by a foundational career as a music journalist for Les Inrockuptibles and an eleven-year as Head of Global Cultural Programming for Maison Kitsuné. This decade spent at the crossroads of music and fashion allowed her to document creative communities worldwide, honing a signature style that captures the spontaneous dialogue between individuals and their aesthetic surroundings. In 2023, Carrier transitioned to an independent practice to focus on long-form narrative projects. Her series Artists at Home bridges photography and literature, documenting the domestic sanctuaries of global creators through visual portraits and expanded written narratives. In parallel, her long-term research on nomadic communities examines how textiles serve as vessels for history and identity.
