Bio

Dreamer with a camera Lucía Lamata (Madrid, 1993) is a visual storyteller who uses photography to explore what she was unable to name for many years: the moment when a person stops defending who they believe they have to be. Her practice revolves around identity, memory, and the possibility of finally feeling at home within oneself. Rather than explaining, her images create a space where vulnerability can exist without judgment. Lamata has exhibited at PHotoEspaña as well as in solo and group exhibitions across Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, and the United States. Her work has been featured in books, magazines, and international publications, reflecting an artistic practice that understands photography as a way of making sense of both the world and herself.
