Marie Wengler
Marie Wengler (b. 1992, Copenhagen) is an emerging lens-based visual artist and social scientist (PhD; Postdoctoral researcher) working at the intersection of photography, archival materials, and social inquiry to explore and expose the boundaries of “normalcy” in society. Her work has been shown in exhibitions around the world, has won and been shortlisted for different awards, and has been featured in reputable publications such as the Prix Pictet Publication (HUMAN; 2023), facilitated by The V&A Museum. In 2024, she participated in Tremplins Jeunes Talents, and in 2026 she takes part in a residency program at Villa Perochon in Southen France. From October 2025 to January 2026, she also participated in a photobook mentorship programme at Centre de la Photographie Genève, working with Ann Griffin to transform one of her projects into book form. Marie’s works are currently held in the collections of museum Les Franciscaines and the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts.
