Mario Ermoli
Mario Ermoli (1967) is an Italian photographer, AI artist, musician, and teacher based in Milan. His work explores the symbolic and surreal aspects of photography, moving from portrait to conceptual still life. He has collaborated with international architecture magazines, and in 2023 the ADI Design Museum in Milan hosted his exhibition “The Architecture of the Face,” curated by Alessandro Colombo. In 2022 he held a solo show at Galleria Valeria Bella and won the BBA Photography prize at Berlin Photo Week, exhibiting at Kuhlhaus Berlin and the Rotterdam Festival. Since 2022 he has specialised in prompt photography, working with generative AI as a primary artistic medium. His ongoing series “Ordinary Madness” presents hybrid and AI-generated images conceived as film stills from films that never existed, exploring the blurred boundary between the real and the imagined, published in Disegno, edited by Stefano Casciani. He teaches at IED Milan and founded the musical collective “Hotel 7.”
