Bio

Johan Andrén is a Swedish photographer working at the intersection of architecture, abstraction, and perception. Through the deconstruction of urban environments, he creates images that challenge the viewer’s sense of space, light, and form. His work is driven by a search for the unexpected within the familiar, where reflections, angles, and fragmented surfaces transform real structures into almost illusionistic compositions. The result is a body of work that moves between documentation and visual construction. With a minimalist yet dynamic visual language, Andrén explores how we interpret what we see, and how subtle shifts in perspective can reshape our perception of a place.
