Nancy Poeran
I explore identity as something fluid, never fixed, never fully visible. My work begins with photography, but refuses to stop there. Through a layered dialogue between the lens, hand-drawn sketches, and artificial intelligence, I construct images that hover between what is seen and what is felt. At the heart of my practice is a question: what do we actually perceive when we look at another person? I approach this not through analysis, but through intuition, guided by emotion and by the quiet observations of everyday encounters. My images do not explain. They invite. Technically, I move between the traditional and the experimental. Starting with photography and hand-drawn sketches, I enter into a dialogue with artificial intelligence, not as author, but as tool, introducing chance, disruption, and unexpected depth.
