In 2019 I was still a beginner in photography. On a whim I brought my camera to my grandmother's village in Belarus, my second home, on my last evening there. It was a normal afternoon. I left but I couldn't stop coming up with ideas for what to photograph next summer. The next summer never came. Covid, then the 2020 protests, repressions, war in neighbouring Ukraine. My grandmother passed away. I never got to say goodbye. I never got to finish the series. Every night before I fall asleep, I see this scenery. This is my hope.
