Belonging is not just a question of place. Sometimes it is the loss of feeling at home in your own face, your own body, and the world around you. For many acid attack survivors, the scar enters the room before they do. People see the wound before the woman, the violence before the life still being lived. This portrait asks what it means to rebuild identity when others cannot see beyond the scar, and what longing for home looks like when home must be found again within yourself.
