A woman sleeps from exhaustion on a mound of plastic waste along the heavily polluted Buriganga River in Dhaka, Bangladesh. After losing her home to repeated floods and the growing impacts of climate change in Bangladesh's vulnerable coastal region, she migrated to the capital in search of safety and survival. Without permanent shelter, her days begin and end on riverbanks, sidewalks or boats, where piles of discarded plastic become a makeshift bed. The image reflects how climate-driven displacement strips people not only of a house, but also of security, dignity and a place to belong.
