Lake Urmia, once the largest lake in the Middle East, has almost entirely vanished. Once celebrated for its beauty and vastness, it has become a haunting landscape shaped by loss, mismanagement, and environmental fragility. For me, the lake is more than a geographical place; it carries memory, identity, and the traces of what once was.
