Is biting aggression or a condition of life? I bite my lips and cheeks when I’m nervous, clench my jaw in my sleep from a scream that never came out, bare my teeth when I smile, and bite my skin to express love beyond words. A bite breaks integrity, changes shape, divides—but creates contact and intimacy. We bite to live, protect, set boundaries, play. My reflection on anger: when it has nowhere to go, it turns inward. An attempt to give shape to the unspoken, to normalize this feeling.
