Oviul Maruf

In this photograph, I chose to frame Suryaloke Barnamala—the Central Shaheed Minar of Sylhet Agricultural University in bangladesh—from a low perspective beneath a brooding sky, allowing its vertical forms to rise beyond the people gathered before it. Rather than photographing an empty monument, I waited for a quiet human moment: a parent capturing a memory while children stood beneath a memorial built to preserve a nation's memory. That quiet contrast became the story I wanted to tell.
