The turquoise caught my eye first. Then she turned away and somehow the frame just worked — the perak, all those tiny details, the wool, and the mountains in the background. I usually look for faces when I photograph people, but I didn’t need one here. I just liked the way she stood against that landscape, carrying so much of Ladakh in what she wore. One of those moments where I didn’t want to overthink it.
