"Eosophobia 18" is a visual investigation of nocturnal Berlin, exploring darkness of the city as a state of human consciousness. The title refers to the fear of dawn, and the number 18 refers to the threshold of astronomical night, when the Sun is 18 degrees below the horizon, as well as to the 18 photos comprising the series. Within the project, this fear becomes a metaphor for what happens when something has remained in darkness for too long: the return of light begins to feel threatening.
