The Círio de Nazaré is a Catholic religious festival held every October in Belém, in the Brazilian Amazon, honoring Our Lady of Nazareth. Its central procession draws roughly two million devotees, who follow the sacred image through the city’s streets in an act of faith, promise and gratitude. Recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, it is considered one of the largest religious processions in the world.
