Colored popcorn on sale at an amusement park. Kernels coated in pink, blue and green sugar syrup are piled inside a glass display case, with a stainless steel scoop used to serve each portion. Sold by the cup, this sweet is aimed mainly at children, who are drawn to its bright colors and sugar as much as to the rides nearby. An everyday snack that sits at the center of the park’s economy of fun and consumption.
