In this self-portrait, I attached snail shells to my skin while allowing living snails to crawl across my face, confronting both myself and the viewer with themes of vulnerability, temporality and the intimate interplay between human and non-human life. By merging my body with these small creatures, I transform the portrait into a contemplative space where the boundaries between self and environment, animate and inanimate, begin to dissolve.
