The present is always one step ahead of me. If I look back, I remain stuck in the past; if I look forward, I haven’t arrived yet. They say the present moment is the only thing that truly exists—but why is it so hard to be in it? My attention constantly shatters: notifications, algorithms, an endless flow of information pulls me out of the now. We live in a world where in every moment a thousand other layers are present too. These layers appear not only in time, but also in identity.
