Simone Roscher
I’m a self-taught photographer based in Vienna, Austria. Photography for me is a way to express myself, my thoughts, my hopes. I use it in order to process, explore or reflect on own experiences and emotions. In this sense, photography always had and still has a therapeutic, healing aspect for me. Beyond that, I feel like it helps me to get closer to the essence of things and to look behind the surface, including my own. Finally, my work - which is strongly influenced by the natural world, my immediate surroundings as well as my interest in philosophy, psychology, poetry and literature - revolves around topics such as the complex and ambivalent feeling of melancholy, mental health, vulnerability or inner strength.
