Valentina Etzi is a Sardinian sociologist and visual artist whose practice moves between documentary and conceptual approaches, exploring the relationships between the female body, identity, intimacy, memory, nature and space. The body is often approached as a territory of vulnerability, strength and transformation, while landscapes, botanical forms and urban environments become extensions or projections of the self. Her practice is interested in impermanence, absence and the traces that people and places leave behind. Her visual research is informed by her background in sociology and cultural-based urban regeneration, bringing together intimate observation and broader reflections on gender, social change and the relationship between individuals and their environments. seeks images that remain suspended between reality and symbolism, preserving the materiality and imperfections of the body while creating spaces for ambiguity, memory and interpretation.
