Roland Gaedtgens
Roland Gaedtgens (b. 1964, Amsterdam) is a Dutch filmmaker, photographer, editor and color grader whose work bridges documentary cinema and fine art photography. After an extensive career in commercial film, collaborating with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Karl Lagerfeld and adidas, he shifted his focus toward more intimate, human-driven storytelling. His black & white documentary Benjamin Feliksdal, The Life Story of a Dutch Dance Master represents a defining work in his filmography and reflects his observational, non-intrusive approach to filmmaking. His photographic work has been exhibited primarily in Amsterdam and also featured in Leica Fotografie International. He is currently working on the documentary Timeless Grace about the creative director of the Dutch National Ballet, Rachel Beaujean and her deep friendship with the world famous choreographer Hans van Manen.
