I am an Indian documentary photographer whose practice explores identity, labour, belonging, and the lives of communities that are often overlooked or misunderstood. I see photography as a way of building relationships, preserving lived experiences, and creating space for stories that deserve to be seen and heard. My work is rooted in long-term engagement, allowing trust and shared experiences to shape the images I create. I am drawn to the quiet moments that reveal dignity, resilience, and the complexity of everyday life. My ongoing projects include Looms of Resilience, documenting families sustaining traditional handloom weaving in northern India, and a long-term project with young members of India's Hijra and queer communities, exploring identity, chosen family, and belonging. Through my work, I hope to challenge stereotypes, encourage empathy, and connect local stories with universal human experiences.
