Image made during the 2026 commemoration of the 25 de Abril 1974 revolution ('The Carnation Revolution') that brought an end to the dictatorship in Portugal. The authoritarian regime was undone by young officers who marched on Lisbon. Abandoning his austere attitude, this gentleman stepped out of his role as a participant in the parade to greet a friend in this particular way. They hugged and laughed for a minute before he returned to his place by the armoured vehicle.
