The transition from apartheid to a democratic order was one of the greatest achievements of the twentieth century. Negotiations between the African National Congress and the National Party ended colonial and apartheid rule. Euphoria followed, yet economic power stayed white, poverty black, and the struggle continued. Today, young people look beyond the mirage of 1994 to challenge the status quo.
