Mayamen, a young girl who fled the war in El-Obeid, North Kordofan in april 2023, picks eggplants for lunch in the farm of the house given to her family in Al-Mikailab village, south of Berber. Captured on a mobile phone, this simple daily act reflects a budding sense of familiarity and a new connection to a place that opened its doors to them. From the depths of shared hardship, this house transitioned from a temporary shelter into a space of safety, warmth, and a newfound home.
