What holds this image together is the child looking back. While the street continues forward, her gaze lingers, attentive to the two people resting along its edge. The adults move on, practiced in not noticing. That contrast speaks to how sensitivity fades with time, replaced by routine and distance. This photograph is part of my series Ground Control, an exploration of how street photography exists between chance and intention, and how a single frame shapes what we notice and what we overlook.
