Xaveer May
Xaveer May (1994) is a self-taught image-maker based in Amsterdam with a sharp eye for capturing people and their surroundings. Driven by an inner motivation rooted in journalism, archiving, and visual storytelling, he has developed a personal approach to photography that centers on community, culture, and layered human experience. His work often unfolds through long-term connections and research, allowing for trust, intimacy, and deeper engagement. Rather than observing from the outside, Xaveer moves within the environments he photographs, creating space for stories that are often overlooked or left unsaid. For him, the process of making images is just as valuable as the outcome. He continuously seeks ways to ensure that these narratives can be seen, shared, and remembered.
