Vaishnavi Karelia

I’m a Mumbai-based street and documentary photographer, mostly drawn to people in the spaces they naturally belong to. I like photographing everyday life, festivals, public spaces, small interactions and portraits that still feel connected to their surroundings. I’m self-taught and work in finance, so photography began as something outside my regular routine and slowly became the way I notice and understand the world around me. I’m especially interested in India’s colour, energy, traditions and the way people interact within shared spaces. My work has been featured in Smart Photography and Asian Photography Magazine, which has been an encouraging part of this journey. My approach is simple and observational. I look for honest moments rather than perfect ones. For me, photography is a way of showing what caught my attention, what made me stop for a second, and how I saw that moment through my camera.
